The Untold Story of South America's Jewish Sex Slavery

Enticed or kidnapped in 20th century Eastern Europe, young marginalized Jewish women were transported to South America, where they were sexually exploited by the international Jewish flesh merchants — the Zwi Migdal.  Their unspoken stories and forgotten lives are a painful stain on our collective memory.  The film dramatizes fact-based stories, using rare archival footage and interviews with victims of modern day sex trade — giving voice to these exploited immigrant women.

Background Story:
Jewish mobsters sold thousand of naïve and impoverished Jewish girls from Eastern Europe into sexual slavery. The woman originally believed that they were leaving their homes and communities to get married. Most were from poor families.  Their parents, hoping for a better life for their daughters, allowed them to be shipped off to foreign lands.  The kidnapping, rape and forced prostitution of young Jewish women lasted from the late 1860s until the 1930s.

This hugely profitable (annual revenues of $50 million in the 1890s) flesh trade was operated by the Zwi Migdal, a criminal syndicate.  Based in Buenos Aires, it had branch offices in several locations in Brazil, New York City, Warsaw, South Africa, India and China.
